HIGH SCHOOL-AGE YOUTH FROM ACROSS THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN CONNECTICUT, WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR VOICE!
You are invited to be a part of the Youth Presence at the first ever Virtual Annual Convention.
Annual Convention is a gathering of clergy and lay representatives from across our Episcopal Church in Connecticut working to explore, through conversation and legislative processes, how to join in God’s Mission of restoration and reconciliation as the Body of Christ. Come participate in the work of ECCT and spend time with other high school students from Episcopal churches around the state.
Annual Convention will be held exclusively online this year, from Wednesday, October 14–Sunday, October 18. A tentative schedule is copied below.
We will kick off our time together with a virtual youth gathering on Tuesday, October 13 from 7–8:30pm. Wednesday through Friday you are encouraged to attend the “World Café” conversations, which will cover a variety of topics important to the life of the Church today including questions on systemic racism, white supremacy and anti-Black bias; addressing issues of wealth inequality; and what the church is discovering during the covid-19 pandemic. To see the specific question visit the Schedule of Convention.
Youth are invited to the address by the Bishop Diocesan on Saturday as well as a single legislative session where resolutions will be debated and voted upon. On Sunday we’ll attend a diocesan-wide worship service online at 10am, followed by a final gathering to discuss our experience at Convention.
Registration for youth is free! Please register before October 11, and contact Rob Laughton at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
